American Pistachio Growers is an agricultural trade association representing members who are pistachio growers, processors, and industry partners in California, Arizona, and New Mexico. Pistachio nutrition research, government affairs, product development, and market development are key activities conducted by the Association.

The Administrative Committee for Pistachios is a Federal Marketing Order that regulates the handling of pistachios produced in California, Arizona, and New Mexico. The order establishes standards for the quality of pistachios produced and handled in these states by setting a maximum aflatoxin tolerance level and mandating inspection and certification for domestic shipments of pistachios.

At the request of the almond industry, a Federal Marketing Order for almonds was established in 1950. The Board engages in production, nutrition and market research, advertising and promotion in domestic and international markets, quality control and statistical analysis and dissemination.
